Pete is an award-winning GIS specialist experienced in managing successful geospatial projects in agriculture, environment, natural resources, public and commercial sectors.

He is our Chief Product Officer and is responsible for understanding our clients’ business challenges and then designing solutions to deliver successful outcomes.

Pete has worked in Natural England, Environment Agency, Defra, Wildlife Trusts and local government before starting his own business – Mapman Ltd – providing bespoke consultancy and hosted GIS services to organisations including the Woodland Trust, Fields in Trust, Strutt & Parker, Savills, Carter Jonas, Telereal Trillium, BTF Partnership, Fastr Property, Vine-Works, Biddenden Vineyards, Chapel Down, Re-Generation Earth, Government of Jersey, and a number of district, unitary and county councils.

He has a wide partner network including Environment Systems, Esri UK, Esri Eastern Africa, Ordnance Survey, Land Registry, Cranfield University, Bluesky, emapsite, LandHawk, Landmark Solutions, Getmapping and what3words.

He is a Silver Patron of WineGB – the national association for the English and Welsh wine industry – and sponsors their Sustainable Wines of Great Britain scheme.

Pete is a Chartered Geographer (CGeog GIS) and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society with IBG (FRGS). He is accredited with ArcGIS Online Specialty status by Esri.

Pete was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya to an English father and Australian mother and has a strong affiliation with Africa. Away from the office, he enjoys rural life on family farms, country pursuits, and is a keen cricketer. He is a supporter of MapAction – the humanitarian mapping charity – including fundraising for the London Marathon, and a successful climb of Mount Kilimanjaro.
